As you are looking forward to making the next important decision in your medical career, we welcome your interest in the Children�s Medical Center at Winthrop-University Hospital. We continue to grow providing a busy, diverse, and interesting patient population in an environment conducive to learning and research.

Winthrop-University Hospital provides a unique clinical, academic and research experience. Our training provides the opportunity to attain clinical and academic milestones in a friendly learning atmosphere. We provide outstanding primary and tertiary care clinical services overseen by a dedicated full time faculty. The Department of Pediatrics is actively engaged in medical education from medical students to fellows and also has an active basic science and clinical research focus.

Winthrop-University Hospital, a major teaching hospital and tertiary care center in the New York metropolitan area, and the Clinical Campus of Stony Brook School of Medicine has an established reputation for excellent resident education and patient care. Clinical experiences at Winthrop-University Hospital reflect a broad and diverse array of illness (and wellness) from all socioeconomic groups. The Pediatric Residency has developed excellent clinicians, teachers, and faculty and our graduates have achieved success in both private and academic practice. We are proud of our record of fellowship acceptances and practice opportunities our graduates have achieved and the positive feedback we hear from them about their training at Winthrop. The accomplishments of our graduates are clear evidence of our program�s quality.

The Department and faculty provide the environment, structure and education needed while maintaining close and collegial working relationships with the residents. The faculty�s expertise in patient care, teaching and research make them excellent models and mentors for residents as they develop career plans.
