Providing professional guidance for poisoning emergencies and drug overdoses, the LIRPCC can be reached by telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. More than 50,000 calls are handled annually by the Center's toxicology specialists, who use a sophisticated computerized information system for rapid access to data about the potential toxicity of more than 1 million products and drugs.
